Getting Started
Welcome to Joggle!
Joggle is the easiest way to see, manage, and publish all of your digital content. Whether you want the convenience of updating multiple websites, blogs or social networks at once, or you prefer to just share your content with select family or friends, Joggle is designed by a team of dedicated developers who are constantly thinking of better ways to help you manage your stuff, ways that save you and your friends time and hassle. Even still, if you see something you’d like to see added to Joggle, tell us all about it by clicking on Feedback. We can’t wait to hear how you’re using Joggle and what we can do to make it even better.
Read on for more details about specific features in Joggle. This list will evolve as Joggle grows, so check the version you’re running to make sure what you’re reading applies to you. You can find out what release you are running by clicking on the My Account link in the bottom right corner of the Joggle window and selecting the About tab to see the client version.
This Joggle main window diagram may be useful as you read the following sections.

When you log into Joggle, the dashboard is divided into three panels: Navigation (on the left), Viewing (on the top right) and Action (on the bottom right).
My Account
Click on My Account in the lower right corner of the Joggle Dashboard to view details about your Joggle account. You can see how much space is available in your My Joggle webspace, edit your email address or password, and see what version of Joggle you are running.
If you forget your password, go to the login page, enter your account email address, and click on Forgot Password. You will be sent an email which contains a link that will allow you to change your password. The link can only be used once. You will need to return to the login page if you need to try again.
Feedback

Logout
If you clicked “Remember Me” when you logged into Joggle and want to skip the login process the next time you use Joggle, simply close the web browser to exit. However, if you are using Joggle from a public or shared computer, you should click on Logout from the lower right corner of the Joggle Dashboard to prevent someone else from accessing your Joggle account.
Navigation Panel
The Navigation Panel appears on the left side of the Joggle Dashboard. It provides access to all of your files, to matter where they are stored.
Media Tabs
At the top of the Navigation Panel you will find four tabs representing Photos, Music, Videos, and Documents. Selecting one of these allows you to see and manage just that type of media, regardless of where it is located. For example, if you click the Photo tab, the Navigation Panel will then display various options for viewing your photos (this is sometimes referred to as “being in Photo mode”).
Once you’ve selected one of the Media Tabs at the top of the Navigation Panel, the panel refreshes with options to see all or just some of your media.
My Public Page Tab
Note - the Joggle Public Page interface has changed with Joggle version 0.9.3.
Each Joggle account has its own Public Page on which you can share your creations and folders. To see your Public Page inside Joggle, click on the public page icon at the top of the navigation bar (it is the 5th tab, on the right, under the Joggle logo). Your Public Page will appear in the View Pane on the right. At the top of the Public Page is a title and description. Click on them to edit them.
When the Public Page is displayed in the view pane, the navigation bar changes somewhat - views and locations are temporarily hidden. What appears are all of your creations and all of your various media folders (albums, playlists, channels, and document folders). These are the items that you can add to your Public Page.
To add content to your Public Page, highlight a creation or folder on the nav bar and drag it into the view pane. Select and drag the thumbnails in the view pane to re-arrange their order. You can also use options on the View Control Bar to show each item name and last modification date, and to sort the items.
To display your Public Page in a browser window as others would see it, click on the View Public Page button. To get a URL for your Public Page to post or send to friends, click on the Copy URL button on the view control bar.
View Options
The first section of the Navigation Panel under the Media Tabs displays different ways to see all of your photos, music or videos regardless of where individual files are stored. For example, clicking on All Photographs in the photo mode will display all of your photos in the Viewing Panel to the right.
Joggle comes with a set of default viewing options for each Media Tab. You can create additional Smart Views with the Add function.
Browse By Location
In the Navigation Panel are options for seeing all of your media that is stored in just one location, such as a specific website. You can tell Joggle where your media are stored by using the Add function.
The location called My Joggle is your own webspace where you can upload and store photos, music and videos. You can also add to your Navigation Panel other locations where you have media stored, including websites like Flickr or Picasa.
Creations and Folders
Creations are created with the Create button. They are multi-media objects which are designed to be shared with others. Part of the create process includes the selection of the presentation format. The presentation format describes how the creation is seen when it is shared. There are basic presentation formats, such as a photo or video slideshow and a music playlist. There are also themed presentation formats (called widgets) from which you can choose. Joggle will be providing additional presentation formats as it grows.
Folders are single-media objects (albums, play lists, channels, and document folders). They are also created with the Create button and are used to group a single media type in whatever way you choose. For instance, you might create an album of your Grand Canyon pictures, or a channel of video clips from a birthday party. Folders are primarily an organizational tool. Note, however, that files are not actually moved into folders (the folder is really just a list of files), and that a media file can appear in more than one folder. Folders can be shared like creations, in which case they are antomatically given a default presentation format.
Creations and Folders are dynamic objects. That is, changes that you make to them are automatically seen by anyone with whom you have shared them - whether on your Public Page, via email, or an embed on some web page. To add items to a creation or folder, just drag them in. To delete items from a folder, select/highlight them and click on the Delete action button. They will be removed from the folder but will not be physically deleted (see Delete). Removing media from a creation is a little more involved. Click on the media tab for the media you want to remove. Click on the creation; it will start to play. On the View Control bar click the green play arrow to pause. The media of that type will display. Select/highlight those you wish to remove and click the Delete button.
To delete a creation or folder, select/highlight the creation or folder on the nav bar and click the Delete button. You will be asked to confirm the deletion. Note that the individual media files will not be deleted - just the creation or folder.
Subscriptions
Subscriptions are creations or folders that were created and shared by others but which you can view from within your Joggle account. The subscription name includes the name of the creator. See Share to see how you can allow others to subscribe to your media.
Viewing Panel
The Viewing Panel on the right side of the Joggle Dashboard shows your media files based on the Viewing Option that you select from the Navigation Panel. From here you can select individual files to associate with Actions, like slideshows or playlists. When viewing Photos or Videos, the Viewing Panel shows thumbnails by default. For Music, it shows a playlist by default.
View Control Bar
Just below the Viewing Panel is the View Control Bar, which lets you change how you see your media files in the Viewing Panel.
- Show – displays details of each media file. Select one or more of the items from the pop-up list, and the information will appear under each thumbnail.
- Sort By – lets you change the order in which the media files appear.
- File Information – the “i” icon opens the file information window which provides metadata information about the file. Here you can also add a caption or tags to further describe the file, which can be used for more specific searches when you use the Find action.
- Thumbnail size slider – lets you change the size of the thumbnails. Move the ball or click along the slider to make large changes. Click on the small or large rectangle to change the number of items displayed on each line by one.
Action Bar

- Smart View – lets you create a saved search in the View section of the nav bar.
Create
The Create button lets you combine your media into a fun creation that can be displayed in different ways, such as a slideshow, widget, or playlist. Select a Viewing Option from the Navigation Panel to display your media in the Viewing Panel. Click the Create button and follow the simple steps to build a creation. Note that no files are physically moved or transferred to the creation. Joggle just keeps track of the items you have selected and will display them for you in the Viewing Panel whenever you click on the creation.
Share
The Share button opens the Share workspace in the Action Panel, where you can select files, choose how you want them to appear (presentation format), and then how you want to share (send via email, embed into a webpage, or via URL). You can also select a creation or folder that you have already created and then click on the Share button to instantly share it with others.
Joggle makes every effort to see that your email shares are delivered. However, some ISPs and email clients may treat the email share as spam. If your friends do not receive your email, have them check their spam folder. A confirmation email will be sent to your email address with a link to the share and a list of the users to whom it was sent.
You can also allow others to subscribe to your shared object. If you do, then they will see a Subscribe button when they view your share. Clicking on it will cause the share to appear in the Subscriptions sectin of the nav bar where they can view it any time and see all your current changes.

More than one tag can be entered at a time. Click OK to finish. Tags can be seen in the File Information window by clicking on the “i” icon in the lower right corner of the Joggle Dashboard. You can also view tags right under each thumbnail, by clicking on Show and selecting Tags.
